![]() ![]() Caveat here is that I am a hobbyist and thus do not have efficiency of production demands as an input. The TSO parallel guides, which I own, in combination with the guide rail squares is more versatile in many respects because you can do parallel cuts and then use the GRS 16 with the leg of the parallel guides to square and cut components to length up to 50" maximum.this can eliminate the issues with MFT/3 calibration but is probably, IME, a bit slower overall. The Parallel Guides are the Longer Sections and Offer Consistent Rip Cuts Using two Adjustable Stops that Engage the Edge of the Material Parallel to the Cut. And, IMO, the short width solution is better still than the competitors. Whereas the TSO system requires a jury rigged floating rail with a rod extension calibrated to a standard width of 10 inches and then an addition for the width of the narrow cut width. Cost me 30 to do the conversion (just over 6 per tape and slow shipping). ![]() My estimate is that the tapes on each section are within 1/64' of alignment of their counterparts on the opposite guide, and spot-on post calibration. The limitation of ~24" or about 500mm on width of cut can be an issue but for the target market, which AFAIK is the onsite production of cabinet components, that is not such an issue. The Festool parallel guide employs an attachment that requires simple fastening with a quick calibration for blade width. Re: Parallel Guides Convert Metric to Imperial. The fix on the Festool parallel guides is to screw some tabs onto the tops of the stops to prevent the downward migration.that's an easy fix. guidance system render accurate parallel grooves for perfect alignment. Specifications: Parallel Guides Parallel. So, it's worth noting that when Festool came out with the parallel guides, they were sort of pioneering the field.I think the competitors would agree. Traditional dado joints have advantages, but using. The Parallel Guide can be used with any length FESTOOL FS/2 guide rail.
